Eileen R. Spratley McGaffic, 97, of East Liverpool, passed away at her residence on Monday, December 9, 2024. Born on May 11, 1927, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of George W. and Ruth E. Maloney Spratley. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Glenn McGaffic, whom she married on January 21, 1951.
A proud graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1945, Eileen furthered her education at Ohio Valley Business College in 1946. She dedicated 27 years of her career to Ohio Bell before retiring. Eileen was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church and was actively involved with the Telephone Pioneers of America as well as St. John Meals on Wheels since 1977.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Dale Lee McGaffic and his wife, Crystal, and David P. McGaffic; her grandchildren Kristin Bedford (Bryan), Lauren Smearcheck (Jeff); great-grandchildren Carlee and Kristopher Bedford, Liliana and Madison Smearcheck; and her brother Robert Spratley (Jane) of Columbus.
A celebration of Eileen's life will be held by Rev. Eric Edwards at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church. Friends may visit with her family one hour before the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
