Tulia, Texas-Elaine Hernandez, 41, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Elaine was born on January 7, 1982 in Tulia. She graduated from Roosevelt Public School in 2000 in Rockford Illinois. After graduating high school, she went to college and received her associate in health science and worked in the Neighborhood Health Association in Toledo, Ohio. As Elaine was working, she was also studying for medical assistant and later received her diploma. She was a wonderful mother to her four kids, an amazing sister, niece, aunt, and friend. She loved to draw, karaoke and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Elaine was the life of the party and always had a smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Zapata, her grandparents, Justo and Valentina Zapata Hernandez.
She is survived by her husband, Orlando Ostiguin; her children, Julian Hernandez, Bianca Elena Hernandez, Lizette Araceli Hernandez, and Martha Olivia Hernandez; her brothers and sister, Meliton Hernandez, Justo Hernandez and Martha D. Hernandez; she is survived by her Uncle Thomas Hernandez, Aunt Sally Mendoza, her uncles Joe Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Sammy Hernandez, Justo Hernandez,and Moises Hernandez, Philip and wife Tina Hernandez, her in-laws, Zeferino and Antonia Ostiguin; her godmother and children, Christine Grado, Salvador Carmelo, Alexander, Christian and Joselyn.
