Elaine Green Scroggs, age 74, of Loganville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 18.

Born and raised in Norcross, Elaine graduated from Norcross High School in 1969. She spent much of her career working alongside her beloved husband, Richard, at his companies, Metro Waste and Peachtree Sanitation. While she was dedicated in all she did, Elaine's true joy was found in her family and friends. Her life was a reflection of love, devotion, and care, especially for her children, whom she cherished deeply.

Elaine had a gift for bringing warmth and laughter to all that knew her. With her quick wit, quirky sense of humour, lighthearted spirit, and mischievous smile, she left lasting impressions. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-gardening, time at the beach, and cooking meals that gathered loved ones around her table.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Scroggs; her parents, Thelma and Avery Green; and her sister, Charlotte Pierce.

Elaine is survived by her children, Leisa Jennings and Kenneth Scroggs, both of Loganville, Georgia; her brother-in-law, Robert Pierce of Alpharetta, Georgia; and her nephews, Steve Pierce of Buford, Georgia, an Stewart Pierce of Canton, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Elaine's memory at www.stjude.com A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date.
