Elaine D. Spooner, 88, formerly of Hamburg, died on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Lutheran Home at Topton where she resided since 2016. Elaine was the wife of Albert W. Spooner who predeceased her on January 13, 2016.

Elaine was born on December 14, 1936 in Greenwich Township, Berks County and was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Cora E. (Stump) George. She was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Elaine was employed by Hamburg Savings & Trust Co. for many years and served in various capacities. She later went on to receive an accounting degree from Albright College and worked for Herbein & Co, Reading.

Elaine was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hamburg and served as organist there for many years. She was also a member of the Reading Choral Society with her late husband, Albert.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was predeceased by two half brothers, Stanley B. George and Lester F. George, and a half siser, Lillian M. (nee George) Hoch. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Heartfelt appreciate goes out to those staff members at the Lutheran Home at Topton who cared for Elaine during the last years of her life.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 40 South Fourth St, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Friedens Church Cemetery in Lenhartsville.
