Elayne Morrey

Mary Elayne Morrey, 91, died on Friday, March 29, 2024 in Libertyville, IL. She was born on July 15, 1932 in Racine, WI and a former resident of LaGrange, North Chicago and Waukegan, living in Libertyville, IL since 1976. Elayne graduated from Clark College in Iowa and achieved her Master's in Social Work at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She began as a social worker with Catholic Charities in Waukegan and retired from her private practice as psychiatric social worker in Libertyville.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Margaret Morrey, Bridget Morrey & Mary (Kevin) Grambush; 11 grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Williams-Boland, Daniel (Becca) Wood, Jordon (Jazmine) Wood, Nora Bird, Elizabeth (Kev) Fee, Stanley (Mattie) Grimm, Marianna (Jonathan) D'Alessandro, Gabriella (Ray) D'Alessandro, Lee Grambush, Erin Grambush & Jacklyn Grambush; 15 great grandchildren, Brigid, Caitlin, Jaxson, Sierra, Elias, Ada, Arlo, Rori, Amelia, Madeline, Clementine, Candice, Winter, Iona and Paisley (on the way); sisters-in-law, Marian Dowd and Rita Dowd and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo "Mike" and Mary (nee Amato) Dowd, her two brothers, Ed and Mike Dowd, her husband, John T. "Jack" Leahy and by her two daughters, Ann Morrey and Patty Morrey.
