Eldon  Anderson, 72, of Washington Terrace, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife at his side, early in the morning of November 7, 2025. His life was marked by a spirit of adventure, love of family, cheerful optimism, and an unwavering faith in God.

Born in Ogden to Glenn Eldon and Elaine Beckstead Anderson on February 4, 1953, Eldon was the third of six children, and the only son. He grew up in Pleasant View, Utah where he graduated from Walquist Junior High and Weber High School.

After high school, he worked with his friends, the Bairs, on their potato farm in Blackfoot Idaho until serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Germany North Mission.

Eldon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in German from Weber State University. He later attended graduate school at the University of Utah studying German. While attending Weber State University, he sang in the Ogden Institute Choir, where he met the love of his life, Kerrie Farber. On August 2, 1979, Eldon and Kerrie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Eldon loved and honored his country. He served in the United States Army, at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class after sustaining an injury in Officer Candidate School. Although his military service was cut short, it served as an additional foundation to his life.

A major focus of Eldon’s life was teaching others and helping them become the best version of themselves. This extended to his profession as a teacher, where he impacted thousands of lives for good. He taught Adult Education at the OWATC for many years. His children remember going on outings with him where random people would stop to give him a hug and, with tears, tell how he had changed their lives. Eldon later moved to Weber High School where he retired from his dream job as a German Language Instructor. He loved languages and was always learning.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eldon served in various positions, including Bishop, High Counciler, and many positions in the Young Men Program. Just before his passing he was serving a mission with his wife Kerrie in the Salt Lake City Utah Headquarters Mission. Eldon leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and dedication to God.

Eldon loved the Scouting program and was a dedicated Young Men leader and Scout Master. He served hundreds of youth and was passionate about helping them progress. He earned several scouting awards, including the Silver Beaver award, the highest honor in scouting. The impact of Eldon’s service to the youth will influence many generations.

Eldon loved adventure and being outdoors. He enjoyed sports and played football, basketball, and baseball as a youth. As a young adult he loved riding motorcycles and sky diving and spent many hours rebuilding Jeeps. He treasured his time traveling with his wife Kerrie, on their many road trips and to European destinations. He loved spending time at the cabin with his family, taking the youth on camping trips, building things, and taking his grandkids on four-wheeler rides. His grandkids adored him and sought him out for an adventure (and an Italian Ice) whenever he was around.

Eldon is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kerrie Anderson, Washington Terrace; children, Johnathan Anderson, Salmon, ID; Katie (David) Espenschied, Woods Cross; Matthew (Gladys) Anderson, Riverdale; Adam (Casandra) Anderson, Washington Terrace; Jacob Anderson and Thomas Anderson, both of Clearfield; his eight grandchildren, who he absolutely adored: Audrey, Liam, Kasen, Eleanor, Graham, Sophy, Porter, and Milie; his sisters, Laura Lee Woolsey, Garland; Valorie Stander, Bear River; Sydnie Larsen, Centerville; Wendy Christensen, Shelly, ID; and Christy Blair, Highlands Ranch, CO.

Eldon has been joyfully reunited with those who preceded him in death, including his parents, Glenn and Elaine, and his grandparents, Verl and Rosa Nellie Rindlisbacher Anderson and Hesy and Adelia Quayle Beckstead.

The family wishes to thank the staff of IHC Hospice for their tender and professional care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.

Eldon’s unfailing positive outlook, steady character, generosity, and faithful life of service to others will be missed and will leave a void in his family and community that will be difficult to fill. In honor of Eldon’s memory, we invite friends and family to reach out in your communities and build and serve each other.
