Eliezer "Coco" Colon Ocasio, 64, of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Born on September 24, 1960, in Anasco, Puerto Rico, Eliezer was the beloved son of the late Maria T. (Ocasio) and Eugenio Colon.
Eliezer worked as a handyman in the Reading area, where he became known for his dedication, hard work, and caring nature. He had a passion for working on cars, spending countless hours tinkering with engines and cultivating his skills. His love for automobiles was a reflection of his meticulous nature, always ensuring things were running smoothly, whether in the garage or in life. His gentle heart extended especially to animals as he shared a special bond with his loyal dog, "Bori." Eliezer's love and kindness left a lasting impact on his family, friends, and neighbors, who will deeply miss his presence in their lives.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Christina Colon, and his sons, Eliezer Colon and Jason Hancox. Eliezer also leaves behind three sisters, Damaris Colon, Noemi Colon, and Anna Martinez; and five brothers, Eugenio Colon, David Colon, Samuel Colon, Edwin Colon, and Eliud Colon. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eliezer was predeceased by his son, Michael Colon, whose memory he carried close to his heart.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 19th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Feeney Funeral Home, 625 N. 4th Street at Centre Ave., Reading, PA. A religious service will follow at 11:00 AM. Eliezer will be laid to rest in Puerto Rico, his homeland, where his journey began.
Arrangements are entrusted to John P. Feeney Funeral Home Inc. 625 N. 4th Street at Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601, 610-372-4160. Obituary and condolences can be viewed at www.johnpfeeney.com.
