Elinor Rudy Saginaw Twp., Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elinor Rudy, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 91 years. The daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Simoncic) Miklosovic, Elinor was born on November 30, 1933, in Saginaw, Michigan. She married the love of her life, John Rudy, on June 20, 1953, and together they shared 72 wonderful years. He survives her. Elinor retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. She will be remembered as kind, giving, and endlessly patient. She was always the first to offer a helping hand-often referred to as "the neighborhood meals on wheels." Family was the center of her world, and time at the family cottage on Houghton Lake brought her great joy. She was known for her comforting back scratches, her deep Catholic faith, and her love of travel. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and playing cards, always surrounded by family and friends.
Surviving besides her husband John are two daughters and one son, Sharon (Steve) Kocsis, Thomas Twp.; Karen (Bob) Nowak, Rockford, Michigan; Chris (Kathy) Rudy, Houghton Lake; five grandchildren, Aaron (Kelly) Kocsis, Lindsey (Nick) English, Shayne (Lauren) Nowak, Justin (Kelsey) Rudy, Ashley (Chris) Rolling; her great-grandchildren, Ella and Emma Kocsis; Otto and Augie Nowak; Ethan, Reed and Charlotte "Charlie" English; Kelton, Roman and Jayar Rolling and Chesney Rudy; a brother in-law and sisters-in-law, Virginia Miklosovic and Keith (Myra) Rudy; many nieces and nephews. Elinor was preceded in death by her siblings, Irene (Robert) Dowis, Mary (Jerome) Gagnon, Frances (Henry) Beauregard, Annie (Louie) Bowerman, Helen (Fred) Adams, Francis (Rebecca) Miklosovic, Robert Miklosovic; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Virginia) Rudy and Fr. Noel Rudy.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate with entombment to follow in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
