It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth (Bette) Rachel Beach age 85, on August 8, 2025.
Born on November 26, 1939, in Marquette, Michigan, to the late Loren and Florence (Handburg) Aris. Bette was a vibrant and creative soul whose artistic touch brightened the lives of all who knew her. Whether she was painting, crafting, crocheting or bringing beauty into everyday life, she approached the world with imagination and joy.
Her greatest masterpiece, however, was the family she nurtured. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Bette spent her life caring for and guiding her loved ones with patience, acceptance, and unconditional love. She had a gift for making everyone feel valued and loved, and her home was a place where laughter and togetherness flourished.
Bette will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who survive her: her son Dennis (Susan) Beach, her daughter Deborah (Beach) Nader, and her grandchildren, Rachelle McKinney, Adam (Bethany) Levin, Alan Beach, and Ashley (Nick) Patterson. Her five great-grandchildren, along with her beloved niece and nephews. She now joins her parents, beloved son Loren Beach, and her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Brenda Aris, who preceded her in death.
Bette's industrious spirit was demonstrated through her successful venture as the owner of Al-ways Ceramics, a haven for creativity in her community. Her work was not just a business but a reflection of her joyous spirit and her passion for sharing that joy with others.
Known for her dexterity with yarn, Bette could often be found crocheting beautiful patterns that were as intricate as the life stories she would share. Her hands, always busy, were paralleled by her quick wit and love of games, Bette had a playful spirit that made every gathering special. From card games to board games, she was always ready for friendly competition and treasured the moments they created.
In her final years Bette was blessed to have created a home and been care for at the Willows of East Lansing. Bette found immense joy in her daily life of creating puzzles, making gifts for staff, and playing games. A familiar and friendly face to the ducks at the pond, Bette found solace and happiness in their company. Her love of feeding the ducks was testament to her kind heart and gentle nature.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Willows of East Lansing and Elara Caring (Hospice). We are deeply grateful for the compassionate care and dedicated staff that became an extension of Bette's family.
Her membership at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an integral part of her life, reinforcing her dedication to service, faith, and community. Bette was blessed to have to made cherished friendships that provided her with an outpouring of love and support. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support.
