Elizabeth "Liz" Coutta, age 84 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. Liz was born on June 26, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Benjamine Carl Pearson and Lela Mae (Foshee) Pearson. Liz attended Franklin County Schools as a child and was a 1960 class graduate of San Deigo City Schools in San Deigo, CA. Upon moving back to Tennessee in the late sixties, she began working for Dr. Benson at Benson Dental as a dental assistant. Later she worked for twenty-eight years with Highpoint Health, formerly Southern Tennessee Medical Center and retired after ten years with Franklin Manor. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and most recently cooking wonderful meals, baking sweet treats, and working in her flower garden. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Edna Cooley; great-grandsons, Robert Edward and William Dale, and dear friends, Doris "CBug" Simmons, Vicky Summers, Ruth Bradford, and Elizabeth "Sparky" Simmons. Liz is survived by her son, Todd Coutta (Kristi); granddaughters, Susie (Joe) Holiday and Brianna Coutta; great-granddaughters, MaKayla and Savannah; niece, Cindy (Tommy) Levi; great-nephew, Chad Levi; grand pup, Maggie; dear friends, Sue Knight, Elizabeth Moore, Jean Smith, Kristy Vanzant, Vicki Hall, Doyle Huffer, and Dorris Keller; and many other nursing friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00am from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Winchester Memorial Park with Danny Faye, Joe Holiday, Dwight Key, Doyle Huffer, Jim Cortner and Tommy Levi all serving as pallbearers.
