Elizabeth Grace Gohrmann "Betty"
June 22, 1941 – May 2, 2025
Elizabeth Grace Gohrmann "Betty" passed away peacefully on the evening of May 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief but courageous battle with lymphoma.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty's warmth, strength, and joyful spirit touched everyone she met. Her life was a reflection of deep love and enduring kindness.
She shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Siegfried Gohrmann, building a home rich in laughter, love, and tradition. Betty's greatest pride was her family. Her children-Jeff (Melissa), Sonja (Raymond), and Karl-carry forward her values of compassion, resilience, and devotion. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren-Kaley (Josh), Drew (Leeann), Alek, Kyle (Savannah), Brett (Miranda), and Alyssa, her cherished great-grandchildren, Ava and Lewis, and her brother Robert Rodgers. Mother in law of Shannon Gohrmann; Born on June 22, 1941, to Francis and Mary Rodgers in Detroit, Michigan, Betty grew up in Clawson, where she attended Clawson High School. She met Siegfried and married him on October 19, 1963. Together, they created a life grounded in love and shared purpose. Betty was a familiar and beloved presence at her children's elementary school, always offering her time and care with a smile.
She had a deep love of music, especially polka, and could often be found tapping her feet to a lively tune. Her unmistakably loud and cheerful whistle became one of her most endearing trademarks, a joyful sound that let everyone know she was near. A passionate Red Wings fan, Betty brought energy and enthusiasm to every game she watched.
With her quick wit, generous heart, and radiant spirit, Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and light. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
