Elizabeth Jane “Liddy/Libby” Kirkbride, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior, and also to reunite with most of her family, on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was born on October 1, 1947, to Dale Raymond and Nancy Della (White) Kirkbride at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. She graduated from Zanesville High School in 1965, and graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1971. She moved to Southern California, where she taught in both Christian schools and Public schools for 37 years. During this time, she obtained another Bible College Degree, a California teaching credential, and a Master’s Degree in Education. She loved her students and made every effort to show them God’s love through her teaching. She retired in 2009, and after living in La Habra, California for 40 years, decided to return to the place of her birth to enjoy her retirement.

Liddy/Libby was a member of two churches in her lifetime. North Terrace Church of Christ was her home church from the time she was born in 1947, until her death in 2025. She was baptized there when she was 11 years old. In her youth, she was involved in many programs, and enjoyed singing for youth meeting with friends. During her time in California, she was a member of Eastside Christian Church in Anaheim. She did many service projects there and went on two mission trips with them: one to Ukraine and another to Kenya after she retired. She loved music of all kinds, attending theater productions, both professional and community, and loved spending time every week at the movies with friends. She loved all animals and was especially dedicated to her Havanese puppy, Maggie, her cockatiel, Joey, and her Cavapoo Rosie.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her only sister, Catherine Charlene (Kirkbride) Schneider; her brother-in-law, Douglas S. Schneider; her special family friends, Waneta J. Pyne, Charles F. and Sara J. Wise, and Ann E. (Wise) Hartshorn.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her nephew, Kirk Douglas Schneider, of La Habra, California; her sister from another mother, Sheryl L. Wise; her dear friend, Stephen Hartshorn; special friends, Martha L. Rhodes of CA, Cherie Baesel of OH; and her two best friends, Susan Tom Phipps, and Pam Talley Bennett; who are both lifelong friends; she also leaves behind many church friends and condo neighbors from Zanesville, who will miss her friendly smile.

Knowing that she is indeed happy to be in the presence of her Lord, a cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
