Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Mauch, age 88, passed away on September 17, 2025 at SSM Health/St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on May 31, 1937 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Esther Markowski Wamser.

On June 26, 1954 she married her best friend Richard "Dick" Mauch at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Milwaukee by her Uncle Rev. Joseph Wamser.

Betty was a homemaker, but was involved with Boy Scouts and served as a Den Mother for over 10 years. Following their move to Fond du Lac, she and Dick purchased Remington Store and after its sale, owned and operated the Card Shack until her retirement in 2014. She was a 28-year member of the Fond du Lac Women's Chorus, a Life Member of the Twilight and Evening Optimist Clubs, over 30-year member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and an honored crossing guard for over 10 years as one of the 1st guards in the city.

She loved gardening and took pride in keeping and growing hers and the family's geraniums over the winters for many years. Betty also loved the Packers, cheering loudly in her room and getting pull-tabs from Backyard.

Going to work everyday was never a chore as she loved greeting her customers numbering in the thousands, many of whom became cherished friends. She and Dick were faithful volunteers with Broken Bread for many years.

Survivors include three children, Albert Mauch of Fond du Lac, Bernadette "Bunny" Goss of Little Elm, TX and Esther (Todd) Lehman of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Chastity, Bridget, Meghan, Kelly, Katy, Jeff and Jennifer; 13 great grandchildren, Anabelle, Layla, Edison, Xavier, Andres, Isabella, Santiago, Hector, Asa, Stevie, Kason, Quinn and Ben; two great-great grandsons, Axel and Cashton; special friend, Darlene Jones and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dick on June 4, 2018, an infant son Joseph and a son Charles, daughter-in-law Linda Mauch, a great-great granddaughter, Lola, her sister and brother-in-law Patricia "Pat" and John Hauke, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Lulu Mauch.

A visitation will be held at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in North Fond du Lac on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.

Betty will join her husband in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made in her memory to Broken Bread Food Pantry.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac for their loving care of Mom.
