John Joseph "Jack" Huss, age 82, died peacefully with his wife of 60 years by his side. He was the former owner of the Huss (Sippel) Funeral Home in St. Cloud, WI for 35 years. He was born January 1, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Gilbert Huss and Marie (Rohan) Huss. He graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School with the class of 1957 and from Plymouth High School with the class of 1961. He went on to graduate from the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science in 1965.

Jack married Jane Schilling on September 4, 1965 in Plymouth. They resided there for a couple of years before moving to St. Cloud where they owned and operated the Huss Funeral Home, as well as, the Huss Monument Company for Twin City Monuments of Neenah. He also worked for Sargento Cheese Company of Plymouth for over 34 years. Jack and Jane moved to Fond du Lac in 2012.

Jack golfed in the Crystal Lake league for over 40 years and continued golfing weekly with his Holyland group at Hickory Hills and high school friends at various courses. His favorite golf buddy was his grandson, Erik John. He enjoyed senior bowling in Mt. Calvary, riding his moped around the "Holyland" area and continued his rides around Fond du Lac. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.

He was a former member of the National, State, and Lakeshore Funeral Directors Association and a member of St. Cloud Catholic Church where he was an usher, greeter, and former secretary. He was the longest standing member of the Winnebago East Shore Lions, serving as President in 1985, a director for over 25 years, and also publicity chairman for many years. He also enjoyed coin collecting. Jack would do anything for his three daughters and in return, they spoiled him endlessly. He adored his grandchildren and looked forward to their calls and visits.

Jack is survived by the love of his life, Jane; 3 daughters: Jenny (Dave) Talma and their children Kyle and Lindsey, Julie (Don) Thome and their children Josh (Halle) Kluever and Molly (Will) Nichols, and Sara (Bill) Morgan and their children Katja, Erik John, and Emily Jane (Drew); 2 brothers: Jerry (Margaret) Huss of Plymouth and Jeff Huss of Huntington Beach, CA; sister Debra (Mark) Murphy of Flagstaff, AZ; sister-in-law, Sr. Katie Schilling of Fond du Lac; as well as several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws Alfred and Leona Schilling; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Lyle Haslee.

Visitation will be held at Holy Cross church in Mt. Calvary on Friday, September 26 from 3:00-5:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 6:00 PM. Private family burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth, WI.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at SSM and Hospice Home of Hope for their care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for various Holyland charities.
