Herman C. Mauch Jr.

Herman C. Mauch, Jr. of El Campo passed away May 19, 2025 at the age of 74. He was born January 10, 1951 in El Campo to Herman Clyde, Sr. and Clara Mae Goynes. He was a 1969 graduate of El Campo High School where he played football and was on the '67 - '68 Ricebird team that made State Finalist. He went on to Texas A & M, where he was a four-year letterman for the Aggie football team, and graduated in 1973 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He married his love, Katie Johnson in 1979. After his father's death in 1978, he took over the family farm and farmed until the '80's. He went into insurance as an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance, which he excelled in for 30 years. He was a past member of Rotary Club of El Campo, BPOE Lodge 1749, Masonic Lodge, Wharton County Aggie Club, had served on the Life Underwriters Council Fellow Board, and was a director on the WCEC Board for 18 years. Herman never met a stranger and will be remembered for being kind and honest, which helped him create strong friendships and business relationships.
He is survived by his sons Herman Clyde Mauch III and wife Jennifer of El Campo and their children Jerry, Jasmine and Kameron, Neil Dippel and wife Donna and their daughter Kristina Lee and husband Zach, and Johnathon Dippel and fiancée Emily Woytek; brother Tommy Mauch and sister Mamie Mauch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Katie Mauch, sisters Vickie Gleason, and Betty Autry.
Visitation will be 9 AM to 10 AM Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 10 AM with Rev. Wayne Clement officiating. Interment will follow the service at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Timmy Autry, Heith Treadwell, Kevin Treadwell, Derek Treadwell, Johnathon Dippel, Zach Lee, John Pierce and Shane Denfip.
