Elizabeth (Betty) H. Oddi, 94, of Glenolden passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Little Flower Manor in Darby, PA. Born on June 29, 1930, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Higgins) Booth. Betty was a dedicated homemaker who took great joy in caring for her family. She cherished every moment spent with both her immediate and extended family members, especially at the shore house in North Wildwood.
Betty entered the workforce as her husband Franny approached retirement, initially at Bradlees and later at Kmart. Known for her strong work ethic and love for social interaction, she made a lasting impression on those around her. Her leadership skills shone through during her time at Little Flower, where she was appointed as the vice president of the residents committee, a role she was honored to have, serving her fellow residents.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis (Franny) A. Oddi, her son, Joseph M. Oddi and siblings George Booth, Winnie Frye, Angus Booth, Margaret Mangelli, Nancy Frye, James Booth, and T. William Booth.
She is survived by her sister, Thelma Jean Anderson, son, Stephen and wife Gayle (King) Oddi, daughter-in-law Denise (McHugh) Oddi, grandchildren, Vicky Oddi, Debbie Phillips, Melissa Anderson, David Oddi, four great grandsons: Hunter, Bryton, Declan, and Jackson, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 8th at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 2545 Franklin Ave., Secane, PA. Friends may call from 10-11 am prior to the service.
Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to: Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 2545 Franklin Ave., Secane, PA 19018.
Her life was a testament to love, family, and community, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will long be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and her bright smile.
