Elizabeth Schade Obituary

Published by John F. Givnish Funeral Home - Buckingham on Aug. 13, 2021.
Elizabeth Gladys Schade, 82, after defying the odds and surviving Ovarian Cancer for fourteen years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 13, 2021. Born December 30, 1938, in Bristol, PA, Elizabeth spent the better part of her life in Carversville, PA. She was the beloved wife of Francis G. Schade, who never left her side for 64 years, especially during her courageous health battle. Elizabeth was the loving mother of Francis Schade Jr. and the late JoAnne Dean Schade of Mantua, NJ, Cynthia Schade Pellington and Carl Douglas Pellington of Bushkill, PA, and Elizabeth Ann Schade and Vladiislav Ivanov of Staten Island, NY. She was idolized by her grandchildren Carl Francis Pellington and Elizabeth Seats of Lexington, SC, Stephannie Ann Schade Hagerty and Frank Hagerty of Pitman, NJ, Cathleen Pellington Kindred and Christopher Kindred of Manheim, PA, Corey Pellington and Zachary Vaile of Philadelphia, PA, and Connor Pellington of Manchester, NH; and she was a proud great-grandmother to Colleen Pellington, Landon Pellington, and Liam Pellington of Lexington, SC, Collin Kindred and Keegan Kindred of Manheim, PA, and Delilah Hagerty of Pitman NJ. Elizabeth was the adored sister of Adele Lawlor of Levittown, PA, Edward Bock of Palm Coast, FL, Theodore Bock of San Marcos, TX, David Bock of Hop Bottom, PA, the late Winifred Tavernier of Oakford, PA, and the late Thelma Downing of Mt. Laurel, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Bock and Agnes McGovern Bock of Croydon and Hop Bottom, PA. Elizabeth was a doting wife, mother, grand-mother, and great-grandmother. Affectionately called "Mimi" by her family. She always ensured her home was well-kept and her family well-fed. Family was her focal point and her joy. She loved the ocean and was fascinated by lighthouses. She enjoyed family trips to the Outer Banks and Long Beach Island. Elizabeth was an avid reader, a nature lover, birdwatcher, and gardening enthusiast and was known to take months creating a spectacular Christmas display in her home. On the side, she enjoyed searching for hidden treasures at rummage sales especially if milk-glass was on display. In her later years, Elizabeth fully enjoyed taking aquatics class at the YMCA with her dear friends. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by family and friends. A memorial will be announced at a later date. Services entrusted to Leaver-Cable-Givnish Life Celebration Home of Buckingham. The family would ask in lieu of flowers please make a donation for Ovarian Cancer Research at www.cancerresearch.org.
