Elizabeth Sharon Stockstill, 72, affectionately known as Beth to her friends and family, passed away at her home in Bourbon, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Born on July 27, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri to Arthur and Rosalie (Randazzo) Kerbel, Beth's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship.
Beth's early years were spent in the heart of St. Louis, where she grew up surrounded by a loving extended family. She graduated from Bishop Dubourg High School in 1970, carrying with her the cherished memories and values instilled during those formative years. Beth's commitment to her family roots remained a cornerstone of her life, as she maintained close relationships with many relatives throughout her journey.
Beth's professional life began shortly after her high school graduation. She married Charles David Williams, and together they welcomed a daughter, Angela. Although their marriage later ended in divorce, Beth's role as a devoted mother never wavered. She found fulfillment in her secretarial position with the Local 2 in St. Louis, where she was respected for her diligence and warm personality.
Love graced Beth's life once more when she married Thomas Daniel Stockstill on June 14, 1985. Their union blessed them with two more daughters, Katie and Toni, and Beth welcomed her stepson, Matthew. The family made their home in Imperial, MO, where they nurtured a household filled with love and laughter.
In pursuit of a shared dream, Beth and Danny moved to Bourbon in 2005, after purchasing property at Anthonies Mill Lake and the Town Tavern in Bourbon. There, they created a life that reflected their aspirations and commitment to each other. The lake became the backdrop for countless family gatherings, where fishing and swimming were among Beth's greatest joys.
Beth's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She was an avid gardener, cook, and baker, taking pride in her Italian heritage and the family recipes she lovingly prepared. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and storytelling, where her motto, "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story," often filled the room with laughter. Beth's friendships were a testament to her friendly nature; she never met a stranger and was always ready to lend an ear or share a tale.
As the ultimate caregiver, Beth's selfless love knew no bounds. Even as her health declined, she found comfort and enjoyment in playing Rummy for hours on end, often outwitting Danny with her clever strategies. Her playful spirit and loving heart remained undiminished to the very end.
Beth is survived by her husband Thomas "Danny" Stockstill of Bourbon, MO; her 4 children: Angie Simmerly and husband Billy, of Bourbon, MO, Katie Aguinaga and husband, Eli of East Alton, IL, Toni Stockstill of Bourbon, MO, and Matthew Janson and wife, Melanie of St. Clair, MO; 8 grandchildren: Jessica Simmerly of
