Elizabeth Marie Gallagher Weber

Elizabeth M. Gallagher Weber, 93, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at her home.

Elizabeth (known as Betty) was the daughter of the late Esther Vali Sears and Harold Sears. Betty was raised in Rockland; MA grew up in a busy household with six other siblings. When it came to pick a career, she. went to hairdressing school, and shortly thereafter started working at the salon at Jordan Marsh in Boston, MA.

She married James Leslie Gallagher and raised her two daughters, Jane Schipper (Romano and Judith Gallagher-Howell in Hanover MA., all the while running her fulltime beauty shop connected to the house. Her many customers were also dear friends and family. Betty loved line dancing and taught for many years. She also enjoyed traveling and entertaining.

Betty retired after decades of hairdressing and moved to Delaware to an over 55 community. There she met her husband, Bernard Weber. They had many fun times with their friends in the community, and they loved traveling in their RV. The couple eventually moved to Waynesville, NC.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Bernard, her two daughters, her two grandchildren, Caitlin Schipper-Brown and Brittany Schipper-Langley and six great grandchildren. Betty also has one surviving sibling Claire Mulvaney of Roebling, NJ.

Betty died at the age of 93, at her home. She fought dementia with grit and grace and died in the arms of her two daughters on August 22, 2025. Her zest for life and great personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
