Elizabeth Louise Zdarko

Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Wozniak Zdarko, age 78, resided at LECOM at Elmwood Gardens where she peacefully passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, with her family members by her side.

She was born on August 26, 1946, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Bronislaw and Helen (Gavula) Wozniak.

Betty grew up on the east side of Erie and attended Lincoln Elementary School, Wilson Middle School and Academy High School. She moved to Erie’s west side to raise her family and then would move back to the east side of town for her retirement. Betty was very modest but was a great full-blooded Polish daughter, sibling, wife, mother and grandmother. Betty was known to be a kind, welcoming, respectful, giving and beautiful lady. She was a hard worker who over the years worked in customer service whether it was at a local donut shop, Kmart, the cafeteria of the Millcreek Community Hospital, or a senior living center.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Michael James III and siblings: Bronislaw "Sonny" Wozniak, Mary Ann Dunlap and John Wozniak.

She leaves behind to cherish her in memory, her children: Jennifer Zdarko Deatherage (Jason), Jessica Zdarko Figueroa (Hector), Patrick Zdarko, Janice Warner, Matthew Zdarko and Molly Morin and her grandchildren: Tyler Figueroa, Jacob Deatherage, Theia Reynolds, Ryan Osbourne, John Morin, Jeremy Warner and Ethan Warner. She is further survived by her siblings: Helen “Sis” Cyparski, Bob Wozniak and David Wozniak along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 West 10th Street, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
