Ellen V. DeCarlo

Ellen V. DeCarlo of Newtown Square, PA and Naples, FL passed peacefully in Bryn Mawr Hospital on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Anthony J. (Tony), daughter Michele Blum (Thomas), son Anthony J. Jr. (Joyce) granddaughters Melissa Blum and Meredith DeCarlo, sisters-in-law Harriet Vitale (widow of James), Mildred Vitale (widow of Alfred), nephew Alfred Vitale Jr. (Tracie), Tracy Vitale (widow of Stephen).
Ellen was a longtime member of St. Thomas of Villanova Roman Catholic parish and served the parish and the larger Augustinian community for many years. For her work with the Augustinians, Ellen was honored by being named an Augustinian affiliate in April, 2019.
Ellen and her husband traveled extensively visiting every continent except Antarctica.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, she graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School and Villanova University.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Saturday November 11th; from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M. followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. ALL IN CHURCH at St. Thomas of Villanova Church on the Villanova University campus, 800 E. Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA 19085. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Matsonford Road, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, Ellen asked that contributions be made to the Augustinian Fund, 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA 19085.
