Ellen E. Light

Ellen E. (Meek) Light, age 77, of York, passed away at Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation on December 21, 2025.
Ellen was born in Altoona, PA on August 20, 1948 and was the daughter of the late George and Regina (Smith) Meek. Ellen worked for Anvil for many years prior to her retirement. She loved her pets dearly including her dogs, cats, and bird. In her youth, she proudly raced her mustang and loved to share how she won a trophy. Above all, Ellen loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the time she spent with them.
Ellen is survived by her daughters Lora M. Hartman and husband Josh and Jodi A. Williams and husband Rocky; her grandchildren Latron Hasty (Christina), Collin Hartman, Devin Williams, and Dominic Williams; and her great-grandchildren Zander and Elleia. She is also survived by her siblings Anna Phillips and husband Richard and Donald Meek. Ellen was preceded in death by her sister Veronica Akina; and her sister-in-law Belinda Meek.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Ellen's life will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402 with Rev. Kyle Sahd officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. A viewing will be held on Monday from 11:00AM – 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
