Elmer C. Nehring

Elmer C. Nehring, age 92, of Appleton, passed away on August 25, 2025. He was born in Saxeville to the late Leonard and Alma (Yohr) Nehring on January 9, 1933.

Elmer is survived by his children: Bob (Susan), Cindy (Carey) Thompson, Mark (Annette) Curt, Paul (Julie); grandchildren; great grandchildren; and mother of his children, Virginia Driver.

He is preceded in death by his parents; second wife Lana; son Tom; granddaughter Nicole; daughters-in-law Linda and Elida; brother Reinhold; and sister Loretta Eilert.

Elmer served as an Army Sergeant during the Korean War and was well known for his mechanical abilities. He worked at Sport O'Lectric in New London for many years and retired from Len Ebert & Sons Implement in Clintonville. It was said many times, "If Elmer can't fix it, nobody can".

Thank you to Dad's past Appleton VA medical team: Ann Marie, Rachel, Jessica and April who always made him feel extra special; his hospice team: Brooke, Jessica, Toby, and Tammy; Pastor Dave Backus of Eternal Love Lutheran Church for his support and many visits with Dad; and to the entire Park View Health Center Lakeside Wing staff who made Dad feel so welcomed every day.

A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Eternal Love Lutheran Church, 1011 Midway Road in Appleton with Pastor David Backus officiating with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. A private cremation interment will be at a later date at Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield.
