Elsie Loretta Lovald-Knudsen, 91, of Brainerd, MN passed away on August 11th 2025 in Duluth, MN.
Elsie was born on September 28th 1933 to Earl and Cora Petersen
Elsie is survived by her son Bruce Lovald. Her Grandchildren Loretta Polzin, Angela Crook, John Peterson, Christil Taylor, Serena Lovald, Jason Lovald, Jamie Lovald, Jessica Wood, and Andrea Allen. Her great-grandchildren Tyler Roed, Susannah Roed, Gage Kukuk, Abriana Kukuk, Alexis Crook, Alayna Crook, Ava Crook, Alyvia Crook, Journey Lovald, Evan Hudacek, and Ian Ausmus. And her great-great-grandchildren Dayton Hilbert, Octavia Stenulson, and Benton and Beaux Kukuk.
Elsie is preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Lovald, and second husband Rollie Knudsen. And her daughters Teresa Lovald-Hendrickson, and Diane Lovald.
Elsie was adored by her family and friends, she will be remembered for her kind and gentle demeanor, and her spunky personality. Throughout her life Elsie was passionate in her love of art, music, and pets. Elsie had an impressive collection of vintage dolls, songbird decorative plates, and coins and jewelry. One talent appreciated by all was her exceptional paintwork. Elsie was always so proud of her children and grandchildren and loved being part of a big family. Her faith in Jesus was truly a staple throughout her life.
Elsie will be missed by many and loved for an eternity.
Elsie will be laid to rest next to her husband (Marine Corps Veteran) Ernie in Gull River Cemetery in Brainerd, MN.
