Elsie Marie Miles, age 81, of Wooster, passed away peacefully, on Saturday August 3, 2024 at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster after a period of declining health. Her loving family was by her side.
She was born on August 7, 1942, in Warsaw, Ohio to Leroy and Madelon (Longstreth) Muller, and has been a long time resident of the Wooster area.
She attended Wooster High School and shortly after on May 6, 1967, she married the love of her life, Doyle "Rich" Miles, and together they embarked on a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories until his passing in 2020.
Elsie retired from the Daily Record in 2003, where she worked diligently in the classified ads department. Her commitment and strong work ethic were evident to all who had the pleasure of working with her.
In recent years, she found joy in her love for puzzles and jewelry making. The jewelry she created brought happiness to her and those who wore it.
Elsie was blessed with a large and loving family, who were the center of her world.
She is survived by her children: Hal Muller, Cara (Tony) Miles, Bret (Tish) Miles, and Misty Miles; and her daughter-in-law Carla Miles. Elsie's greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren each of whom held a special place in her heart, Brent (Tamra), Brandon, Jeb (Danielle), and Zach Muller; Rich (Tasha) Pruitt; Tasha Becerra; Dylan (Kim) Lisle; Ben and Dustin Franks; Thomas, Joseph (Amber), Kendra, and Daniel Miles; Tara (Will) Ladrach; Chad Swysgood; Tia Miles; and Tegan McCann; a sister, Karen (Roger) Rowe; Additionally, Elsie was blessed with thirty great-grandchildren, who brought even more joy and love into her life and her good friend, Connie Bailey.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Madeline Muller; her beloved husband, Rich Miles; her sister, Eleanor Ford; her son, Donnie Miles; her aunt, Winona McFadden; and her dear friend, Gloria Airwyke.
Elsie's life was a symphony of love, kindness, and selflessness. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where everyone felt welcome and cherished. Her laughter was a melody that brought joy to all, and her love was a boundless gift that she gave freely and abundantly. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her, and her memory will be treasured forever.
Private services will take place at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Jefferson Pioneer Cemetery in Wooster.
A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date for the public to attend to help commemorate her life.

I´m so sorry for your loss. My memories of Elsie when I was preteen and as a teenager were pleasant memories. She always listened and always made me laugh. She was like a second mom. Rip Elsie. Susan (Rastetter) Elser
