Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Disciple of Christ
Elvira J. Cino, 89, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded in the love of her family on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Elvira was the widow of the late Charles A. Cino Sr. Born August 13, 1935 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Video and Mildred (Dimond) Chiarenzelli.
Elvira loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. While her children were growing up, she was a CCD teacher at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Trumbull. As an avid reader, Elvira was well versed in the Bible. She was a living example of unconditional love, wisdom and discipleship. Her door was always open to anyone in need of conversation, guidance and practical advice.
Elvira was a funny, genuine and loving woman. As mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her life was full of joy. She was a phenomenal cook and her table was spread with her specialties for family dinners, holidays and afternoon tea with the neighbors. While raising her four children, the Cino home was filled with lively conversation, delicious meals and laughter. Her kids' friends would gravitate to the Cino home because Elvira was a welcoming motherly presence to all. "Uma" cherished each of her eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her home was always filled with family, each person enjoying their special and unique bond with Elvira. She loved to cook, do ceramics, read, entertain friends, enjoy her chocolates and more than anything spend time with her large cherished family.
Left to cherish her love and honor her legacy are Elvira's children: Charles A. (Lorraine) Cino Jr. of Southbury, Deborah (Ronald) Sauers of Naugatuck, Linda (William) Bolton of Middlebury, and Thomas A. (Patricia) Cino of Va. She also leaves her brother Robert (Peggy) Chiarenzelli of Fla. Elvira will be missed by her cherished eleven grandchildren: Charles A. Cino III of Southbury, Matthew (Valerie) Cino of Shelton, Krystelle Cino of Naugatuck, Heather Cino of Colorado and Brittany (Alyssa) Sauers of Meriden and Alexa Sauers of Mass., Justin (Tara) Bolton, of Preston, Candace Bolton of NH., and Ryan Bolton of Mystic, and Gabriella (Zach) Cino of Va., and Thomas A. Cino Jr. of Va. Elvira was blessed with ten great grandchildren: Christopher, Kiley and Isaiah Bolton, Grace and Lydia Smith, Travis and Chase Bolton, and Kai and Ava Cino. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Elvira was predeceased by her husband Charles Sr and her parents.
Services for Elvira will be private and at the convenience of the family. Elvira was a second mother to the children of the Valus family. We have many memories of all kinds of activities we experienced as children growing up in the neighborhood. Felicia and Elvira were Girl Scout leaders for many years and created great memories for girls in Monroe. We had fun and many laughs during camp outs.

Another memory for me was Elvira sing in the kitchen. The song I remember most was a song called Band of Gold! She would dance and sing like no one was watching. We were blessed by the incredible women/mothers of Pastors Walk.

Wishing peace and love to the Cino Family...love Barbara and Felicia
