Emanuel Lee Evans

Emanuel Lee Evans was a strong man, both physically and spiritually. He was
born in Ocala, Florida on January 3, 1946. He passed peacefully with loved
ones by his side on December 13, 2025, after a brief illness.
He was raised in Ocala, Florida, the 11th of 13 children born to Bernis Edward
and Irene (Richardson) Evans. During his high school years, he enjoyed
playing basketball when he wasn't working. He worked at the bus station at
night, and later at Howard Johnson's. When he graduated from Howard High
School in 1964, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served two tours in
Vietnam before leaving the service in 1972 as a Sergeant E-5.
He met his wife, Evelyn, in San Jose, CA in 1974. They were married on
November 20, 1982 and they have two children, Winona Irene Evans, and
Curtis Renville Evans. They were also blessed with four grandchildren; Tanaya
Dawn Evans, Theodore Lee Smith, Teilani Dayvona Evans, and Zion Alarick
Evans and one great-granddaughter, Cyri Faith Evans (Tanaya) during their
union of over 51 years. Also, Emanuel has finally been reunited with a son
who he has been searching many years for, Corey Lawson (Qiana), and was
pleased to have 3 more grandchildren to love; Arlana Angelique Nacnac,
Corena Shonique Lawson, and Elijah Eugene Lawson.
In addition to Evelyn, Winona, Curtis, and Corey, Emanuel is survived by his
grandchildren and great-granddaughter, 2 sisters: Elvaray Jones of Ocala,
Florida, and Elaine Echols of Lake City, Florida, and 1 brother: Curtis Evans of
Tampa, Florida plus numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
