Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gardner Funeral Home, Runnemede on Jan. 30, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow that the Post family announces the passing of Emilia Post, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. Emilia was born on September 19, 1943, in Koye, Africa, and lived a full and remarkable 82 years.
Emilia was the beloved daughter of Maria and Antoni Feret and the youngest of eight children, growing up alongside five brothers and two sisters. As a young teenager, she immigrated to the United States, where she learned English and settled on a farm located in Blenheim, New Jersey. She attended St. Joseph High School and, after graduating, worked at a local chocolate factory. It was there that she met Charles Post, whom she married on April 30, 1966. Together, they raised four children.
Emilia dedicated 37 years of service as a pre-admissions registrar at Virtua Health, retiring in 2010. She made her home in
Glendora, New Jersey, where she built a life centered around family, hard work, and care for others.
She will be remembered as a strong, resilient, honest, and determined woman whose strength carried her through every chapter of life. Emilia had a deep love for her dogs, caring for each as if they were her own children-especially her beloved Bella and Mia. She cherished time spent with family and friends, valuing those moments above all else.
Emilia was known for her comforting homemade dishes, particularly her well-loved "This and That Soup" and stuffed cabbage (Golabki). She enjoyed country music, especially Josh Turner, and was a devoted fan of the television series Criminal Minds. On pleasant days, she could often be found gardening, sunbathing, walking, visiting the shore or casinos, or picking figs in her sister's backyard. She had a talent for finding the best bargains while shopping, especially at Goodwill, and was always willing to help others whenever she could. Emilia loved to laugh and shared her warm sense of humor with those around her.
Emilia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Post Sr. She is survived by her children, Kimberly, Diane, Charles Jr., and Daniel; her grandchildren, Samantha, David, Charles III, Devon, Daniel Jr., and Angelina; and her great-grandchildren, Blake, James Jr., Declan, Lorelai, and Tobias.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in
Runnemede, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Runnemede. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Blackwood, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses in honor of Emilia's life and legacy:
