Emily was predeceased by her loving husband, Roberto Rudico “Bob” Laurel, with whom she shared 39 blissful years of marriage; her parents, Annie Pauline Terry Turner and Eugene Campbell Turner, Sr.; and brothers, Eugene Campbell “Sonny” Turner, Jr. and Ted Everett Turner. Emily is survived by her brother, Terry Madison Turner (Mary) of Clayton, MO; sister, Rebecca Turner Bourne (Pat) of Benton; stepdaughters, Roberta Laurel, Anna Cardona, and Lynn Laurel, all of Houston. She leaves behind a cherished extended family including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Thereafter, she pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by co-founding Connecting Spirit with her sister in 1997, a company dedicated to healing and personal growth.

A deacon in the Presbyterian Church, Emily was deeply spiritual and devoted to helping others. She expressed her passion for life through her art, surrounding herself with color. Emily was a talented singer and an avid rescuer of chihuahuas, her beloved "fur babies." Known for her vibrant personality, she was always ready for a good cocktail and a hearty laugh, making every moment count.
