Emma "Vivian" Campfield, 93, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.
Born July 16, 1930, in Lexington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Claude Thomas and Lora Vergie (Dunsmore) Kendall. She married Charles Campfield on August 7, 1948, in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on August 11, 1998.
Vivian was a homemaker and housewife. She volunteered as a Guild Lady for St. Vincent Jennings Hospital and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge #576. Vivian enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing Bingo, dancing, crocheting, knitting and cross stitch. She also liked to play Dominos, do arts and crafts, and sew.
Survivors include her son, Daniel (Barbara) Campfield of North Vernon; daughter, Berniece Campfield of North Vernon; grandchildren, Kelly Sabelhaus of Ohio, Tracie Jarrell, Andrea Campfield and Jerianne Bateman, all of North Vernon; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, William "Bill" Kendall; and sister, Elsie Sanford.
A funeral service for Vivian will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. A burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Vivian through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
