Emma C. Kreger, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, November 21, at Arden Courts ProMedica Memory Care Community in Allentown, PA.
She was the loving wife of the late William E. "Bill" Kreger. They celebrated 52 years of marriage together before his passing in 2002.
Born at home in Effort, PA, on March 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Weiss.
In her earlier years she worked at Effort Garment Mill, and after went on to work as a meat packer for at ACME in Stroudsburg. Later on, Emma worked as a cook at Sunset Diner in Kresgeville and Meadowbrook Diner in Brodheadsville. After her working career she proudly retired to Florida for the past twenty five years. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Emma will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
She is survived by a daughter, Mariellen Hittner and her husband Jeff; two grandchildren, Ryan Hittner and his wife Ela, Nicole Hittner and and her partner James Leon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Debra "Debbie" Kreger, a sister, Elizabeth Shiffer, and a brother, LeRoy Weiss.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Interment of the cremated remains will be in Hillside Cemetery, Effort.
The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
