Emma R. Rushing, age 18, of Smiths Station, AL passed away into the Arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Emma’s family and her church family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 pm EST on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service. Emma’s place of burial rest will be with her family where she will always be loved and remembered.
Emma was born April 7, 2006, in Hilton Head, SC. She was the daughter of Kathy Outlaw Rushing and the late John Rushing. She enjoyed listening to music, visiting the beach, always primping, and ready to enjoy opportunities, and preparing for success. She loved her family, and her many friendships. Emma was a Baptist by faith and spent her childhood and youth attending Crawford Baptist Church in Crawford, AL and Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL
She was preceded in death by her father, John Rushing, left to cherish her memories are her mother, Kathy Rushing; brother, JB Rushing; Uncle, Michael Rushing (Traci); cousins, Junior Rushing, Gavin and Tanner; Uncle, Derrick Rushing; Biological mother, Suzanne Rushing Gass (Cody); siblings, Rayleigh, Paisley, and David Gass.
