Eric Cook Obituary
Eric Wakefield Cook, passed away on March 31, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Born on April 27, 1969, in Columbia, Tennessee, Eric was the son of Marilyn Wallace Cook and the late William Edward Cook.
He served his country with honor as a member of the National Guard and notably participated in Desert Storm. Additionally, Eric shared a special bond with his father, spending cherished moments building old-school style racecars together. Eric’s favorite pastime was his love of reading. He loved books all his life and found great solace in them during his illness.
Growing up on a farm, Eric developed a deep love for the land and the simple joys of rural life. These formative years instilled in him a strong work ethic and an appreciation for the beauty of nature.
Eric was a member of the First United Methodist in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
Eric was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, class of 1987. Eric also obtained his Associate Degree from Columba State Community College and his Bachelor of Science at Middle Tennessee State University, class of 1996.
Eric will be remembered for his kindness; Eric’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. His warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
In honoring Eric's memory, let us celebrate the life he lived and the legacy of love, service, and camaraderie he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to extend their gratefulness for the kindness and generosity shown to our family by their dear friend, Rebecca Von Spreken.
Eric is survived by his mother: Marilyn Wallace Cook; and sisters: Molly Elizabeth and Anna Catherine Cook.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association at783 Old Hickory Blvd Suite 257, Brentwood, TN 37027.
A celebration of life for Eric will be held, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Eddie Watson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to the start of the service.
