Eric Lawrence Cullop Sr., 54, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on August 12,

2025, after a short illness. Born on October 14, 1970, in Arlington, Virginia, Eric was the

beloved son of the late Helen Newhouse and Howard Cullop.

A master craftsman, Eric could build just about anything. His attention to detail was

second to none-even with 9 ½ fingers! Eric was sought after for his amazing work and

often traveled to build and install custom-made pieces. Every project bore his signature

care and creativity.

Eric will be remembered not just for the things he built, but for the way he served

people. He was a loyal friend-he always put others first and was there anytime he was

needed.

Eric raised and bred Dobermans for many years. He loved animals and preferred being

in the woods among nature's creatures to life in town. Eric was also a talented

cook-especially on the grill. His specialty was bacon-wrapped scallops, and he loved

feeding people.

Eric is survived by his son, Eric Cullop Jr. (Kayla Childs); grandchildren, Kristina and

Eric III; stepfather, Jerry Newhouse; brother, Todd Cullop; stepsister, Cora Newhouse

(Steve Kuss); nephews, Brady and Cash Cullop; niece, Ashley Laney; Aunts, Sharon

Coffey and Sheila Ladd; and Uncle, Larry Coffey (Judy). He was preceded in death by

his parents.

A Celebration of Life for Eric will be held on September 27 for family and friends.
