Eric Allen Edbrooke, 50, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022.
He was a native of Champaign, IL., a U.S. Army veteran, and a police sergeant with the Shively Police Department for over 19 years.
Eric is survived his wife of 30 years, Melanie (Mayfield) Edbrooke; children, Jeri Schulten (Daniel), and Sara, Riley, Avery, and Garen Edbrooke; parents, Jeanie (Tillman), and Jeffrey Edbrooke, and sisters, Laura Reynolds, Chelsey Young, and Jany Lopez.
His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Shively Community Center, Shively Park, 1902 Park Rd.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
An FOP service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home.

I just found out about officer Edbrooke & my heart is broken.
In 2004 he was the first officer to show up and due to his fast response he saved my life. If it was not for him & the good Lord up above I would not be here today.
I tried to keep in touch with him though out the years & I wish I would have kept in touch more
He was & will always be my hero
