Eric G. Larson

Eric G. Larson, 30, of Rockford, passed away on April 8, 2022. Born February 10, 1992, the son of Brian & Mary "Mia" (Liberatori) Larson. He graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 2010, and later went on to earn his BS in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He was employed at Kaney Aerospace and cherished working for a local company that always made him feel at home.
Eric was a beloved member of Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf and his self-appointed role as entertainment and lifestyle ambassador. He loved giving back to the community and the game of hockey, coaching many years for the Rockford Hockey Club and Junior IceHogs program. He was an avid movie-goer and a lifelong Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially with added incentives. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family and friends, whose lives he continually enriched with love and happiness. To know E-Lar was to love him. His smile, laughter, and passion for life were contagious. He lived each day with joy and gratitude, and every life he touched was made better by his authentic and gentle character. He was everyone's favorite Larson and will forever be missed.
Survived by his parents, Brian and Mia Larson; brothers, Jon (Theresa) Larson and Austin (Rachel) Larson; special nieces and nephews, Ethan, Logan, Lucy, and Sloan; grandparents, Grandpa Wes and Papa Floyd; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his Grandma Lois and Nana Rita. Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel and from 10 a.m. to time of Mass on Tuesday at Church.
