It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eric J Rosentreter of Cheyenne, Wyoming on the 7th of March 2025. He was born on the 14th of December 1961 in Laramie, Wyoming to James Martin Rosentreter and Grace Adeline Rosentreter (Barton). Eric attended Rawlins High School and graduated in the class of 1980. He then went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wyoming and was a proud member of the ACACIA Fraternity. He then obtained his master’s degree in secondary administration from William Woods University of Fulton, Missouri.

He began his career at Moberly High School as a teacher as well as wrestling and football coach, where he was soon named, District Wrestling Coach of the year. He was a proud educator and coach, dedicating his time to his students and athletes. He later advanced to the position of High School Principal of Rawlins High School.

Eric married Jodell Moon in Rawlins, WY in June of 1985 and together they had two children, Christopher and Lance Rosentreter, both of Cheyenne. He is preceded in death by his father James Martin and his mother Grace Adeline. Eric is survived by his brother Kyle (Cathy) Rosentreter and his sister Luetta (Randy) Starks, his two sons Christopher (Amanda) Rosentreter and Lance Rosentreter, his grandchildren Bailey and Wyatt, and his nieces Rikke and Noelle. Eric enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving attitude, his sense of humor, and his love for the outdoors.
