Erik Gerard Sampsell, age 55, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Mr. Sampsell was born on September 11, 1969 in Elmira, New York. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Sampsell.
Erik was a proud graduate of SUNY Albany, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree before pursuing his Master's Degree from Georgia State University. He applied his education and expertise throughout his career, culminating in a highly respected 14-year tenure as Director of Business Intelligence at Greensky, where Erik was admired by his colleagues. Outside of his professional life, Erik was an avid golfer as well as a devoted Buffalo Bills Fan. #billsmafia
Survivors include his loving wife, Angie Sampsell, of Mt. Airy; his children, Beau Sampsell, Colin Shay, Keaton Batye, Carson Batye; mother and step-father, Kathy and Rich Gruczkowski; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Beth Sampsell, and their children, Allison, Katelyn, and Emily; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mike Hartman, and their children, Sarah and Matthew.
A Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Mr. Sampsell will be cremated following the visitation.
Following the visitation, everyone is invited back to the Sampsell's home at 1675 Dicks Hill Parkway, Mt. Airy, Georgia 30563 for a remembrance toast to Erik and a celebration of his life.
