Erin DiDonato Obituary
Erin DiDonato is a blessing from God for all who have known her. And though she entered into her eternal home with Jesus on December 17th, 2023, we give thanks at every remembrance of her life and faith. Erin had a deep abiding trust in Jesus Christ and a fierce love and compassion for others. Anyone who knew her, will remember her as a compassionate person with strong character and a strong will to persevere faithfully through whatever trials she faced.
She was born on June 20th of 1978 in
Dallas, Texas to Al and Lorraine Van Horne who loved her endlessly and unconditionally. She remained faithfully devoted to her high school sweetheart, Dave, for 23 years of marriage and 29 years of friendship. Aside from her relationship with Jesus and her love for Dave, Erin most treasured her relationship with her three children, Hannah, Ava, and Jackson who were precious gifts from God to her.
She spent most of her childhood growing up in
Burnt Hills, NY where she graduated from Burnt-Hills Ballston Lake High School in 1996 and then completed her Bachelors of Business Administration from Siena College in 2000. After graduating from Siena, Erin established herself as a financial analyst working within the healthcare industry which she remained in until stepping away to focus on her health.
In addition to her parents, husband and children, Erin leaves behind a large community of family and friends to cherish her memory. Her brothers, Ben and Danny, considered it a privilege to call Erin their sister. She loved them better than they deserved and showed them a love that made them better men after God's own heart. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Janet DiDonato will always remember her kindness and the way her smile lit up the room. Her sisters-in-law, Suzie, Tara, and Corinna will remember her selfless humility and will miss how funny and caring of a person she was. She will also be remembered by her nieces, Maddie and Eliza and her nephews, Connor, Jameson, Alex, Max and Eli who each treasured their special relationship with their Auntie Erin.
The unifying thread of Erin's life and character is her faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. From a young age, Erin learned to trust in Jesus and fostered that trust through various youth groups, Bible studies, and churches that she was involved in. For the past 22 years, she had been a member of Grace Community Church in Fulton, MD where she has made eternal friendships with others. Over the years she was a part of a close-knit women's group, who prayed over her in her final hours. One area that Erin and Dave shared a passion for was caring for the marriages of others. This was visible in the time they took to invest in and lead several young married couples groups over their years together. Erin was the type of person who wanted others to know that it was Jesus who transformed her life. He was the reason that she was the kind of wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend that we all knew and loved. Her presence with others will be dearly missed and we look forward to being reunited with her in glory.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday January 6th at 10am to celebrate Erin's life and faith at Grace Community Church (8200 Old Columbia Road, Fulton, MD 20759) followed by a time of reception after the service.
