Ernest Jackson Richardson, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Accordius Health of Concord Nursing Home in Concord.
Ernest was born September 3, 1940 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Marvin Pierce Richardson and the late Hattie Mae Richardson.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Marvin Pierce Richardson, Jr.
Ernest, "Pop" as he was affectionately called by most people, was a giving man who was always willing to help others, never asking or expecting anything in return. He was the type of man where a handshake meant more than a contract. He was an example of what a husband should be to a wife and he loved his wife, Aletha, more than anything.
A Celebration Of Life will be held on Sunday October 20th at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.
Survivors include his wife, Aletha Richardson, son, Michael (Robyn) Richardson, grandsons Ian Richardson and Noah Richardson, sister, Mary (Bill) Andrews, niece, Kelly Weatherman, and nephew, David (Maureene) Andrews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses for taking such good care of Ernest, especially Alan, Joyce and Tonya. He was thankful for each of you. Memorials may be made to VIA Health Partners (donatehospice.org).
