Estelle Bollendorf passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2025, at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Bollendorf; devoted mother of Lynda Lawlor, David Newby, Dianne Killian (Bill), and the late Todd Newby; cherished stepmother of Dean Bollendorf (Debra), Bernadette Gizzi, Lisa Lawrysh (John), Christopher Bollendorf (Carol), Bernard Bollendorf Jr. (Melissa), and the late Paul Bollendorf. Along with the many people she adopted into her heart, you know who you are. Estelle was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mildred Kerner and Joseph Todd.
Born and raised in Brewerytown, Philadelphia, Estelle's childhood playground was Kelly Drive, Boat House Row and the area behind the Art Museum. She was a proud parishioner of St. Ludwig's and a graduate of Little Flower High School.
Estelle was an incredibly hard worker throughout her life. She held many roles at FMC, Ford Byrne Associates, Service Plus Deliveries (which she co-owned with her husband Bernie), Innovation Printing, IP Graphics, and Phoenix. It wasn't just her typing and accounting skills that were so valued it was her ability to organize and manage both people and tasks effectively. She continued working until her retirement at the age of 82.
Estelle had a sharp mind and a love for puzzles, she completed The New York Times Crossword Puzzle daily in pen and cursive. She was also an avid reader and enthusiastic traveler, especially fond of the many trips to Disney World and America's national parks. She loved Sequoia National Park. She was especially fond and in awe of Sequoia trees. El Capitan in Yosemite was one of her favorites as well. However, her heart will always be in Shenandoah. Estelle also would never forget a birthday and made sure everyone got a card.
Estelle loved to sing and dance, and among her favorite artists were Bing Crosby and Perry Como. She had a beautiful voice and could sing for hours.
Family and friends are invited to Estelle's Life Celebration on Wednesday, April 23rd, at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154 from 9 – 11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
