Ethan (ET) Richard Putt, age 18, ventured to his forever home in Heaven on March 25, 2023; having changed the lives of so many near and far in his short time on Earth. ET was born in Watertown, NY on June 27, 2004 to Matthew and Stacey Putt. Tragically at age 2, ET suffered a TBI leaving him permanently disabled. A disability he never allowed to take away his love for life, for his friends, for his family; and for anyone he came across. To speak for my son, he truly loved every single one of you with every ounce of his soul. Your love back only fueled his fire to love more, and to teach us all so many things. ET made it his mission to show us all how to truly love, without ever saying a word. His legacy will live on in the hearts of every single person who had the opportunity to cross his path. He was a teacher, a friend, and a mentor to many. His passing is his final teaching to us all. Love, love, and love some more. No matter the difficulty you face, love will always win. Love is the most powerful medicine. Love cures all.
ET graduated from Corning-Painted Post High School. He was involved in so many things in his short time with us all, to include Little League Challenger Baseball, Boy Scouts, Team Storm, Special Olympics, and best of all being his brother's biggest fan on the sidelines or in the stands for every game, every match, every tournament he could make. Always finding a few more friends in the crowd, sharing his love with them; and putting a smile on their face. ET was and will always be a healer. ET was a healer of hearts.
From the highest mountains, to the beauty of the sea; you could find ET there proving to everyone in sight that nothing is impossible. There was never a mountain too high and he would always find his way to the top. Despite all of the adversity, struggle, and pain endured in his short life he never ever let any obstacle stand in his way. He proved this world wrong time and again; through which providing guidance to us all. Never ever give up ET was and will forever be the true definition of a Warrior. He fought hard, he loved harder; and gave every last bit of energy he had in the service of those he met. ET made sure everyone knew they were truly special, if only for a minute in passing. His memory lives on in the hearts of so many. His legacy will live on as we share his teachings with those we happen upon in our own lives.
ET is survived by his parents, Matthew and Stacey Putt; his brothers and best friends, Liam (Lexi) Phelan and Kolton Putt; great grandparents, Mary Ann Putt and Richard Ryall; grandparents, Jennifer and Raymond Carapella, and Rick and Lois Putt; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many very special and dear friends.
ET truly had so many exceptional and special people in his life. He would want you to know that he loves you, and will forever be right by your side. He would want you to live this life to your fullest. To dare, to dream, to laugh, to smile, and to spread love wherever you may go. Play your music loud, laugh even louder, drive fast, climb mountains, hug harder, bask in the warmth of the sun, and live without fear. A bit of ET is in us all now to carry on and share with the world. His love and teachings will forever live on in every single one of us. ET was truly everyone's best friend, and forever will be.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home 14 E. Pulteney Street Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites anyone to donate to The Ronald McDonald House any chance they get, so that kiddos just like ET can continue to spread their love to the people they love the most.
