Etienne S. Labat

Etienne S. Labat, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born on February 26, 1947, in Gramercy, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Labat and Earlene Melancon Labat; six siblings, Robert Labat, George Labat, Ernest Labat, Perry Labat, Donald Labat, and Linda Labat; and a stepson, Arthur Asa Serpas III.
Etienne leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 24 years Diane S. Labat; one stepson, Randy Serpas Sr. (Lori Brown Serpas); six grandchildren, Brielle Serpas Sabella, Asa Serpas, Randy Serpas Jr., Brock Serpas, Riess Serpas, and Remy Serpas; three siblings, Janice Alessi, Norman Labat, and Wayne Labat; brothers-in-law, Fred Songy (Kathleen Songy), Harold Songy Sr., Ralph Songy, and David Songy (Wendy Songy); sister-in-law, Gayle Songy O'Brien; and a host of extended family members and friends whom he loved greatly.
Etienne was a carpenter by trade, a career he enjoyed before retiring. He loved fishing in his spare time but treasured nothing more than time spent with family and friends. Etienne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
