Eugene "Gene" D. Forte, 79, of South Windsor, loving husband, and soulmate of over 55 years of Patricia "Tricia" (Dillon) Forte, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Gene was born on March 6, 1944, in Hartford, one of three children of the late Leo and Elvira (DeSarno) Forte. He was raised in Hartford and was a graduate of Buckeley High School, where he was class president. Gene earned his B.A. at Central Connecticut State University.
Prior to his retirement in 2002, Gene had been employed for over thirty-two years for the Cigna Insurance Company. He was a Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. Gene was a member of the C.V.C.C. and was an active member and volunteer at the South Windsor Senior Center.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed coaching and attending his children's sporting events as well as collecting stamps, coins, and baseball cards. Gene was an avid freshwater fisherman and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife Tricia, he leaves his four children and their spouses: Erica Forte and Jeffrey Martens of Portland, OR; David and Christine Forte of Coventry; Brian Forte and Jenna Aylsworth of South Windsor; and Amy Forte and Megan Miller of Northford; his four loved and cherished grandchildren: Dillon Forte, Colin Forte, Maggie Forte and Easton Forte Miller; his brother, Joseph "Leo" Forte; his three nephews: Robert, Christopher, and Chance Beauchesne and their families. In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia (Forte) Beauchesne.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road in South Windsor on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10:00 am. Internment will take place at a later date. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to The South Windsor Senior Center or to a charity of one's choosing.
