Eugene Wilson, a.k.a “Hoppy” or “Blue”, 59, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 at his home in Indianapolis. On October 14, 1965, he was born to James Wilson and Ophelia (Summers) Wilson in Indianapolis.
Eugene was an energetic person who loved spending time with his family playing cards and telling old stories. He believed and said until his death that the Lord was with him. He didn’t have to worry about nothing. He believed that he would get well soon.
Eugene is survived by his children, Chris King, Chanda Springfield, and Dianna Springfield; siblings, James Summers , Wafiyyah Williams , Elizabeth (Barry) Williams, James Jr, Joyce Campbell, Patricia John, Laura McFarland and Sonya Wilson; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; niece, Gina Wilson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilson and Ophelia Wilson; as well as his long-term partner, Brenda King.
Services for Eugene will be held Monday, Aug 25, 2025 at True Belief Missionary Baptist Church, 4829 E. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46218. Friends and family are welcome to gather for a visitation from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the church, followed by a celebration of life promptly at 12:00 pm.
