Beloved wife of the late Donald G. Piper, whom she married August 22, 1953 and who preceded her in death on July 13, 2013, loving mother of Timothy (Judy) Piper of Houston, TX, Gregory (Ludmila "Mila") Piper of Naperville and Mary (Robert "Bob") Hayes of Olney, IL, adored grandmother of Andrew Piper, devoted daughter of the late Alfonso and Clara (nee Jakubowski) Grabowski, dear sister of the late Larry Grabowski and the late Audrey Grabowski, fond cousin, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many, including Betty and Terry Torson of Naperville.
A devout Catholic, Evelin was a former member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Naperville and was a current member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, Naperville where she was active as a Eucharistic minister, funeral and daily mass sacristan, with rosary/prayer groups and giving Communion to the homebound.
Evelin enjoyed gardening, visiting the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL and was a talented seamstress.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.
A wake service will be held on Monday, at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Deacon John Ripoll officiating.
Services will begin Tuesday, August 26, 9:30 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 2220 Lisson Rd., Naperville, IL 60565 with Fr. Patrick Murphy officiating.
A luncheon reception will follow at the church.
Family and friends will meet Tuesday, 1:30 PM at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL for graveside services.
