Mary Lou Jarvis (nee Giordano), age 67, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1993, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice in Naperville. She was born on June 10, 1958, in Chicago, IL.
Beloved wife of Donald "Don" A. Jarvis, whom she married September 29, 1979, loving mother of Steven (Tara) Jarvis of Naperville, Kelley (Kevin) Markwell of Naperville, Jennifer (Phillip) Tedford of Montgomery, IL, Ryan (Elizabeth) Jarvis of Downers Grove, IL, adored grandmother of Grayson Jarvis; Paige and Hannah Markwell; Canaan, Charlotte, Camille and Connor Tedford; Evelyn and Leah Jarvis, devoted daughter of the late Louis and Maria (nee Thierjung) Giordano, daughter-in-law of the late Marilyn (the late Theodore) Sykstus and the late Donald Jarvis, fond sister of Katharina (Michael) Compton, Elizabeth (Jerry) Gilio and Susan (Carl) Damlos, sister-in-law of Debra (William) Dooley and Karen (Nate) Cooper, dear cousin, fond aunt of many, including the late Ryan Dooley, great-aunt, and friend of many.
Mary Lou grew up in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, attended Charles R. Darwin Elementary School and was a 1976 graduate of Carl Schurz High School, where she met her future husband, Don, in Drama Club. She later earned an associate's degree in business from Robert Morris College in Chicago.
Mary Lou raised her family in Naperville. Her favorite job was working for Discovery Toys but the best job she ever had was raising her four kids, and her hobbies included bowling, visiting the Morton Arboretum and spending time with her kids and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.
A celebration of Mary Lou's life will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 9:00 AM in the funeral home with Deacon Kurt Lange officiating. The service will be livestreamed below.
Interment will be private.
