Evie Welcher, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of her community, passed away surrounded by the love of her extensive family. Her life was a testament to the power of hard work, dedication to family, and the joy of simple pleasures Born into a large and lively family, Evie grew up understanding the importance of kinship and the value of tradition. She was a beacon of love and stability, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and care that will be cherished by her sons, David (Cathy) Welcher and James "Tony" (Catherine) Welcher. Her sisters, Dorothy Snyder, Jeannie Johnson, and Bobbie Sue Burke, will remember her as a guiding light and a source of endless support. Evie's ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great-grandchildren will carry forward her spirit, ensuring that her memory continues to bless future generations. Evie's professional journey was marked by her tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit. She honed her skills as a seamstress at Russell Corporation, where her attention to detail and craftsmanship were well-regarded. With a vision for something greater, Evie took a bold step and became the proud owner of two local favorites, Dairy Cream and Dairy Bar. For 36 years, she poured her heart into these establishments, serving the community not just with delectable treats but with her infectious smile and genuine care for every patron. Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort and strength throughout her journey. Evie's love for her family was paralleled only by her passion for music, particularly the tunes of Elvis and Conway Twitty, which often filled her home and brought joy to those around her. She was an enthusiast of dining out, reveling in the company of family and friends over a good meal and lively conversation. Evie was renowned for hosting grand family gatherings on Christmas and Thanksgiving, her home brimming with laughter, love, and the mouthwatering aromas of her cooking. These occasions were a highlight for many, a time when the bonds of family were celebrated and strengthened. Described by those who knew her as loving, thoughtful, and passionate, Evie's impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and her passion for life was evident in everything she did. Evie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Henry Mann; mother, Edna Mann; brothers, Charles Drennen, Lonnie Mann, Johnny Mann, Steve Mann; and sister, Mary Riley.
