Fairy Ellen (Armacost) Woliver, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. She was born November 14th, 1928 in Indianapolis to her parents John Wayne and Helen Genevieve (Snider) Armacost. She married the late Doyne Eugene Woliver on November 23rd, 1946.
Fairy is survived by her three children: Deborah Carmichael of Indianapolis, Denise Ferrell of Indianapolis, and Dana McDowell (Paul) of Fishers; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fairy is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Doyne Eugene Woliver; her sister, Laura Unversaw; and one brother, Robert Dickerson.
Fairy was a 1946 graduate of George Washington High School. She was a Kindergarten Teacher in Decatur Township for several years. She was also a Bookkeeper for several years. Fairy attended Valley Mills Christian Church in Indianapolis and was a member of Decatur Township Civic Council, where she was very involved with the Decatur Township Democrat Club. She loved music and enjoyed watching the wildlife in her backyard. Fairy was known to have a great sense of humor and was a big sports fan. She loved to armchair coach as she watched some of her favorite teams; the Cubs, Colts, Pacers, and Indiana Fever. She loved spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 12pm (noon) to 1pm on Monday, June 24th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm following visitation at the funeral home. Fairy will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood.
