Fauna Gutierrez Obituary
Fauna Fern Gutierrez went to her heavenly home on June 1, 2025. Fauna was born on February 21, 1983 to Gloria J. Yback.
Fauna was a proud member of the Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico. Fauna graduated from Pojoaque High School class of 2001. She was employed with the Pueblo of Pojoaque Gaming Commission where she worked for several years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother to 3 children and one granddaughter who meant the world to her. Fauna always had the biggest heart for anyone in need. She was known for her kindness, her smile, humor, her love for quoting movies, her delicious baking, her love for sports (SFIS, Oklahoma University Sooners, and Boston Celtics) and her love for her family in New Mexico and in Oklahoma.
Fauna was preceded in death by her mother Gloria J. Yback (Santa Clara Pueblo, N.M.); her grandfather Frank Gutierrez Sr. (Santa Clara Pueblo, NM) and grandmother Julene Gutierrez (Lawton, Oklahoma); uncle Frank Gutierrez Jr. (Lawton, Oklahoma); great-grandfather Lee Motah and great-grandmother Daisy Burgess (Lawton, Oklahoma).
Fauna is survived by her sons Elgin Whiteman and Cameron Gutierrez (Santa Clara Pueblo, N.M.); daughter Autumn Gutierrez ( Santa Clara Pueblo, N.M); son-in-law Gage Martinez (Ohkay Owingeh, N.M.); granddaughter Gloriana Martinez (Ohkay Owingeh, N.M.); sister Bianca Gutierrez and nephew Aiden Gutierrez (Elgin, Oklahoma); aunt Barbra Tafoya (Santa Clara Pueblo, N.M.); grandparents Martha Irving, Betty Luna, Leora Ramos, Donald Burgess, Ronald Burgess, Ruth Toahty, Gaylon Motah (all of Lawton, Oklahoma), & many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews from Oklahoma and New Mexico.
Wake services will be Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the home of Fauna Gutierrez (located in South Santa Clara Pueblo housing, N.M). Funeral Service Monday, June 9, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church in Santa Clara, NM.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
